History of Coach

Coach began as a family business over fifty years ago. Six leather artisans began their own collection from their Manhattan apartment. This collection was made up of quality leather bags and other accessories. The technique that they used was a skill that had been passed down from generation to generation. It did not take long for their hand crafted bags and wonderful skills to spread. More and more customers would come to them for their high quality products and would search for the Coach brand name.
The inspiration for the very first Coach bag actually came from an American baseball glove. The founder of Coach notices the intricate markings that was used to make the glove and the texture of the worn leather. He loved it so much that he applied this design to his own bags. He managed to make it stronger and softer though.
Coach is now the leading American marketer of accessories made with suede and leather fabric. Each product is of the highest quality and made using only the best leather. Their craftsmanship and quality is something that has been tested through time.
