The Right Handbag or Purse Can Make or Break Your Outfit
As a woman, it is almost second nature for many of us to carry a handbag. Every woman is going to have different ideas on what makes the perfect handbag, but ultimately it comes down to how well it suits your lifestyle.
Size matters. Well, size matters at least when it comes to your handbag. Some women feel the need to carry everything in their purse, while others choose to carry only minimal necessities. Luckily, we have the choice between a chic clutch and a gigantic tote.
Many women choose the size of their handbag based on their everyday needs. This is why so many women have multiple purses that will fulfill all sorts of occasions. In the event that she doesn’t already own just the right handbag, she can always go out a buy a new one!
There are a few rules of thumb that you should consider when choosing just the right handbag for every occasion. When dressing up for a formal event, it is best to have a small purse. This will limit how much you can bring with you, but it is worth it. When you take the time to dress up, you want the focus to be on you and your outfit. The purse should merely complement your outfit.
Plan your handbag around your outfit. If you are wearing a bold outfit, then you should carry a more subdued handbag. If you are wearing solid colors and want to make a statement, then it should be done with accessories, such as a colorful handbag and jewelry. There is no rule that says your little black dress needs to be worn with black heels and a black purse. Rather, it can be fun to brighten up your outfit with some color.
Another important consideration is how you will carry the handbag. Obviously, a clutch is carried in the palm of your hand. Other purses can be carried with a shoulder strap or handles. A shoulder strap can be formal or casual depending on the material. In most cases, a handbag with handles is going to be best for a more casual outfit.
The right handbag is about mixing and matching and finding the right one to suit your needs and coordinate with your outfit. Have you ever looked at any of the “worst dressed lists” in magazines? In way too many cases, those celebrities are being called out because of the accessories they chose such as a gaudy handbag! On the flipside, celebrities are often praised for matching their handbag perfectly to their outfit. Granted, many of these people have personal stylists, but you don’t ever want to make the “worse dressed list.”
As a woman, you have the right to own as many purses as you like! The right handbag could make or break your entire outfit, so buy a bunch and then choose carefully!
