How did you become concerned in your present ministry?
In late 1987, I extremely providentially discovered that following the high court decisions in 1962-1963 removing voluntary school prayer and Bible reading from public faculties that academic feat scores plummeted, student crime soared, and measures of student ethics skyrocketed ( e.g, teen pregnancies, STD rates, and so on. ). That research, based mostly on cabinet-level Fed. statistical data, resulted in the publication of our first book, America : to pray or Not to pray . I also found that early court judgments on issues we face today ( e.g, prayer in public areas, Bible reading in schools, public porno, for example. ) were precisely the exact opposite of those rendered by courts today. Those early courts cited the original scribblings of the Founding Fathers, and on reading those scribblings, I discovered that they contradicted much of what I had been taught about history. We thus started to gather original documents and now have in our library some seventy thousand documents predating 1812 which undeniably document not only our religious, moral, and constitutional heritage in general, but our Christian heritage particularly. This research has led to a number of subsequent books.

what has been the best example of law deviating from its original intent?
An illustration of the changes in law could be seen in the life of Charles Finney, one of America's famous revivalists, active in the Second Great Awakening. In his autobiography, Finney reports that he intended to be a counsel, and as he scanned the preferred law books of his day, those texts also presented the Biblical ideas on which the laws were based. In the process of studying the law texts, Finney read so much of the Bible that he became a Christian and received his call to the ministry.
Another example is seen in James Wilson, a signer of the Constitution and an original Justice on the U. S. Supreme court, credited with beginning the first organized legal training in America for law scholars. Wilson taught scholars :
[I]t should always be remembered that this law,. Made for men or for states, flows from the same Divine source : it is the law of The Lord God. What we do, indeed, must be founded on what he has done ; and the deficiencies of our laws must be supplied by the perfections of His. Human law must rest its authority, finally, upon the authority of that law which is Divine. Far from being rivals or enemies, faith and law are twin sisters, friends, and mutual assistants.
Today , however , Christianity and the law became rivals and enemies. In fact, in the case Commonwealth v. Chambers, the jury sentence of a man convicted and sentenced by a jury for taking an axe handle and brutally clubbing to death a 71-year-old woman to scouse borrow her Social Security check was reversed by the court because the prosecuting solicitor - in an announcement that lasted less than 5 seconds - had discussed a Bible verse in the courtroom.
